Nancy Beale is originally from the Boston area, but she considers herself a midwesterner as she has lived in Chicago more than half her life. She studied fine Art in college with a concentration in photography. After living, studying, and working in Italy for a year she took a job at a Chicago portrait studio before joining David Wittig Photography in 2006. A few years after joining Wittig, the two founded Beale & Wittig which became one of Chicago's top wedding photography studios. She is a natural entrepreneur and was responsible for taking Beale & Wittig in several new directions. After many years of partnership, Wittig decided to pursue his art career full time. The two decided to close Beale &Wittig and Nancy joined Studio This Is as a partner and principal photographer.
She can be seen most days at the studio in the South Loop, but on off days, she is an avid explorer of emerging Chicago cuisine and a whiskey connoisseur. She is also one of the few people on earth who considers kale a comfort food. She continues to insist that her Bernese Mountain Dog, King, be given full partner status.
Clients appreciate her friendly and warm demeanor at weddings. Her wedding photography can be seen in magazines such as CS Brides, Grace Ormonde Wedding Style, Inside Weddings and The Knot as well as on most popular wedding blogs like Elizabeth Anne Designs, Style Me Pretty, Carats and Cake and Junebug Weddings. Her photos have won numerous awards by the International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers (ISPWP) as well as PDN (arguably the most prestigious wedding photography competition).
